Nordic Walking

Nordic Walking originated in Scandinavia as an outdoor sport for cross country skiers more than 20 years ago and is more popular these years among young and old outdoor enthusiasts.

Nordic Walking uses carbon fibre poles to walk with, which unloads the legs and lower back from the impact of the ground. Nordic Walking is a lower and upper body workout that is more effective than walking and has shown to be more comfortable with people suffering from back pain or OA in knees and hips than walking.

Using the poles with walking increases the walking speed and it is also well known to provide stability to people who have orthopaedic and balance problems to improve their physical activity. The poles decrease the load on the lower body and strengthen the upper body at the same time.

Nordic Walking proved to be a simple and feasible form of physical activity that can be done by nearly everyone, everywhere and almost any time.

This exercise closes the gap between running and walking. Phone our office on 03 9716 2250 and speak to our friendly reception staff for further information or to book a session. Poles will be supplied.
